An award dedicated to publishing with a focus on the kitchen. Starts the Iolanda Award, an initiative born from the idea of Vera Slepoj e Davide Paolini, in collaboration with the Giaccari family.
It will take place in Tricase, on July 7, 2018, the award ceremony, which will take place in the beautiful setting of the Gallone Palace.
The award is for writers and all those who are committed to promoting the Italian cuisine and theexcellence of national culinary tradition Through publishing.
The Iolanda Award was born from the passion and experience of Mrs. Iolanda, an institution of traditional folk cooking in the Salento hinterland. Hers began as a childhood passion, when she cooked for parties and for families in Salento.
Today, at the age of eighty years past, Mrs. Iolanda's cooking is still the star of the trattoria that bears her name.
"The lolanda Prize - reads on the site Libreriamo.it, where you can also get all the information to participate in the review - is intended to be a tribute to the Ms. Iolanda and at the same time a way to enhance the great tradition of Italian cuisine and celebrate those recipes that are an inalienable treasure of every family's history, handed down and jealously guarded from generation to generation.".

The award is thus intended to pay tribute to a specific slice of literature devoted to the preservation and rediscovery of ancient culinary traditions, representative of Italian excellence in this field.
